Description
his dramatic sculpture – a profile of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., his arm outstretched – literally welcomes people to the King National Historic site at the southwest corner of Boulevard and Freedom Parkway. It was commissioned by the Cultural Legacy Initiative, which brought major permanent works of art to Atlanta from Barcelona – the 1992 Summer Olympic city – as an Olympic cultural exchange.
